Action-oriented.
Relationship-based.
Grounded in evidence.

What distinguishes our work? Rise Research's approach is built upon three foundational principles, which we refer to as Rise Research Elements of Practice. Rise Research projects are grounded in data and evidence, based on strong partnerships with our clients, and geared toward delivering actionable findings. Our Elements of Practice ensure that our partners get the right answers to inspire positive change for their communities. See below for examples of our partners and featured projects.

Richfield's Sweet Streets
Across the United States, local and state governments are working to improve the usability and experience of streets for pedestrians, transit users, cyclists, and vehicles through Complete Streets initiatives. Rise Research is currently working with the City of Richfield, Minnesota, and the Institute for Urban and Regional Infrastructure Finance at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs to examine the economic and noneconomic benefits of Richfield’s Complete Streets. Funded through the Minnesota Department of Transportation, this project aims to contribute to local and state discussions regarding the impacts of Complete Streets initiatives for communities across Minnesota.

Juvenile Justice Data

In Minnesota, the rules surrounding information sharing in the juvenile justice system are not well understood. In this project, Rise Research worked in partnership with AEM Associates and the Minnesota Corrections Association to investigate state laws and local practices surrounding information sharing for youth involved in the juvenile justice system. The final report  provides an overview of the state laws and policies related to data and information sharing, describes local innovations in case-level information sharing, and details the steps necessary to ensure that all information and data sharing is done in the best interest of youth. MN Employer Survey

There is growing recognition that the workforce development field is falling short in preparing job-seekers without college degrees for employment. To help policymakers better understand the needs and practices of employers who hire workers without college degrees, Rise Research staff worked in collaboration with the Future Services Institute to design and implement the Minnesota Employer Survey. The final report for this project details the results from this survey of employers in six industries and connects these findings to empirical social science research.
