What We Do

At Rise Research, we love data and evidence. And we love helping you learn how to use these tools to create positive change. With our public, private, and nonprofit partners, we analyze policies, conduct small- and large-scale evaluations of programs, and facilitate methods trainings and technical assistance for practitioners.

We dig into policy.

No organization – whether a community-based nonprofit or a multinational corporation – operates in a vacuum. Local, state, and national policies strongly shape the systems you operate in, the needs you encounter, the programs you run, and the outcomes you see.

And sometimes, the answers you need are embedded in federal law, state statute, academic journals, or in the experiences of other states and localities. Our team will work to identify the appropriate sources of expertise and then we'll dig into existing policies and laws to find you the answers you need.

While Rise Research works across policy areas, we have specialized expertise in income support programs, housing, juvenile justice, data practices law, and systems change initiatives.

We find out what's working.

Whether your goal is to analyze a need, improve a program, build out a new tool, or estimate the impact of a policy, we'll work with you to design a study that can answer your most important questions.

Our approach is relationship-based: together, we'll figure out which questions you need answered and use methods that are appropriate given your context. We are rigorous, which means you can be confident in the answers that our studies provide. And we'll be honest with you: not all studies can answer all questions and data do not always tell us what we want to hear.

By partnering with Rise Research, you'll find the answers that will allow you to improve processes, programs, and to better serve your clients and your community.

We help you find answers.

Building capacity for community change means cultivating skills that may not exist in your organization. At Rise Research, we provide technical assistance, offer training and facilitation, and develop toolkits aimed at helping you build capacity for evaluation, research, and policy and systems change.

Our trainings and organizational support are engaging, user-friendly, and geared toward the problems you want to solve.
With support from Rise, you can begin building your own skills in research, evaluation, and policy analysis.

As the world adapts to COVID, we have moved to virtual trainings and technical assistance. Our staff is skilled at providing remote support, whatever your needs might be.
